What SigenStor is

SigenStor puts a hybrid inverter, which Sigenergy calls the energy controller, on top of a stack of battery modules. Your panels, the battery and the grid all connect to that one unit.

Modules come in several sizes, so a stack can start small and grow. Each module manages itself, which lets a newer module join an older stack.

Sigenergy was the top-selling home battery brand in Australia in 2025, according to SunWiz figures.

What we check before quoting

  • Single or three phaseEach has its own controller.
  • Your evening usageSo the stack is the right size, not the biggest.
  • BackupWhether you want a backup gateway, and which circuits it should run.
  • Your carWhether the DC EV charging module makes sense for you.

Options worth knowing about

Not every home needs them. We tell you which ones are worth paying for.

01

Backup gateway

Switches your home to the battery in a blackout. Without it, the battery stops when the grid does.

02

DC EV charging module

A fast charger that slots into the stack, for homes that drive a lot and want to charge from solar.

03

More modules later

Add capacity when you add an EV or air con, without replacing the system.

04

The mySigen app

Shows where your power goes, and can plan charging around the weather forecast and your tariff.

Own a single-phase SigenStor? In November 2025 Sigenergy recalled some single-phase 8, 10 and 12 kW energy controllers because a quick-connect AC plug can overheat (ACCC recall PRA 2025/20703). The remedy is a firmware update, a free replacement controller with an updated plug, and two extra years of warranty. Affected owners get a notice in the mySigen app. The recall covers single-phase controllers only. If your installer can no longer be reached, contact Sigenergy, or call us and we will check your system. ACCC recall notice

Straight answers

Ask us anything else. If it is not worth doing, we will say so.

Ask us a question

Is Sigenergy a good battery?

It is a well-designed modular system, and it was Australia’s top-selling home battery brand in 2025 (SunWiz). It is also newer than some brands, so we walk you through the warranty terms and the 2025 recall before you decide.

What warranty does SigenStor have?

Ten years on the battery modules and the energy controller, with conditions on remaining capacity and energy throughput. You get the warranty document with your quote.

Can I add Sigenergy to my existing solar?

Often, yes. Your panels can connect to the SigenStor controller, which can also replace an ageing inverter. We check your panels and wiring first.

Will it keep my power on in a blackout?

Only with the backup gateway fitted and the circuits you want wired to it. We tell you what will and won’t run.

How much does a Sigenergy battery cost installed?

It depends on the size, single or three phase, backup and your switchboard. You get one written price with the federal discount already taken off.
